We offer 2 versions of resurfacing procedures - gradual with the Lux1540™ (3-5 treatments), and intense with the Lux2940™ (1 treatment). The difference is in the downtime!
The Palomar Lux1540 Fractional™ laser (non-ablative) is faster, safer and painless than other competing technologies. A series of 2 to 3 treatments is required for optimal results. Results are typically seen in 1-6 months.
The laser treats only a portion of the targeted skin by delivering light in an array of microbeams that penetrate into the dermis, sparing the tissue surrounding the beams from damage. The tissue within these beams initiates a natural healing process that accelerates the formation of collagen that allows for faster healing with visible results in skin color, texture, tone, fine lines and wrinkles. Downtime ranges from 1 to 3 days.
The Palomar Lux2940 Fractional™ Laser (ablative) is the most efficient laser at removing damaged skin with significantly less pain than traditional ablative laser procedures. With a single treatment, Dr. Young can perform a 2-day downtime procedure or a deeper treatment with a downtime of approximately 3-7 days.

The Palomar Lux DeepIR Fractional™ laser delivers infrared light deep into the skin in an array of small regularly spaced beams where it creates a carefully controlled area of elevated temperature that triggers collagen remodeling in the deep dermis. Many people live with "spider veins" or visible leg veins, which makes them feel embarrassed to wear shorts, skirts and swimsuits. In the past, this problem could only be solved through painful procedures and surgery, but those days are mercifully over!
Dr. Young uses the Palomar Lux1064™ Nd:YAG Laser which offers a more comfortable and effective procedure for leg vein treatment. The non-invasive laser pulses cause unsightly vessels to fade from view in a few treatments or less. It can also be used to treat spider veins (called telangiectasia) on the face and other body areas.
Sclerotherapy is also available for the treatment of unsightly spider and varicose veins.
