SmartLipo™ was the first laser lipolysis system approved by the FDA. Dr. Young began performing SmartLipo™ soon after its FDA approval. The tiny laser fiber is inserted under the skin through a puncture hole to break apart the fat cells melting the fat inside the cells, which is then removed by suction. Any remaining liquefied fat is absorbed and eliminated through your body's natural metabolic processes. The Body-Jet^® Water-Jet Assisted Liposuction technique was developed to avoid the problems associated with tumescent anesthesia and gently washes away the fat without traumatizing other structures such as blood vessels and nerves.
