Young hCG Diet

About the Young hCG Diet

The Young hCG Diet is a physician supervised diet that begins with an initial consultation and medical evaluation. After the evaluation, some routine blood tests will be required. After the results of the blood tests are reviewed by the physician you can then be started on the hCG supplement.

"We don't just check you in, hand out hCG and send you on your way... we provide you with continued support either in person, on the phone, or through our email support system. We also provide you with recipes, food guides, and will help you with decisions on meal preparations and food substitutes. Give us a call today at either of our two convenient locations!"

The injectable form of hCG is the preferred form because it is the most consistent concentration that works with better efficiency and accuracy. For the few patients that cannot tolerate the injections, other forms of hCG are available.

Patients are then placed on a 500-700 calorie diet, are monitored weekly and will remain on the program for 4-6 weeks. An average weight loss is 1-2 pounds per day.

Why the Young hCG Diet is So Effective

hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a hormone that is naturally produced in the body which has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. It also allows the body to use stored fat as energy when your body needs it immediately. For the purpose of losing weight, you only need small amounts of hCG to mimic this same fat burning action and it can be safely used by both adult men and women.

hCG causes your hypothalamus to move fat out of fat storage locations so that it is available for your body to use for energy. While you are only consuming 500 calories, your hypothalamus is continually releasing the fat stored in your body. In actuality, your body is utilizing thousands of calories a day of fat from your storage areas which can result in a weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds of fat or more, each day. hCG also resets the hypothalamus to prevent the regaining of weight.

Is hCG safe?
hCG is extremely safe and the small amount that is used for weight loss has very few, if any, side effects.

Can men go on the hCG diet?
Men usually get a better result than women on the hCG diet. It is equally as safe for men as it is women with no significant side effects. Men will not experience any enlargement of breast tissue or estrogen effects as it is not a sex hormone, but is more like adrenalin or thyroxine.

Why don’t pregnant women lose weight when their hCG levels are high?
hCG works to mobilize fat for utilization by the body only when there is a decrease in calories and fat. Therefore, a starvation state must exist for hCG to work.

Will my metabolism slow down if I’m on a very low calorie diet?
Yes, normally when we cut back our calories and fat, our bodies tend to preserve fat and metabolism slows down.
Would I lose the same amount of weight just by eating a low calorie diet alone?
You can lose weight by eating fewer calories and fat, but because the body stores fat during times of deprivation, you will most likely lose vital lean muscle before actually losing the fat. This causes metabolism to slow down, so in the long run, it would decrease normal fat stores and lean muscle mass resulting in extreme hunger and fatigue. Also, you will not lose fat in your problem areas and when you stop the diet you will immediately gain all the weight back and maybe even more.

Will I get hungry while on the hCG Diet?
hCG naturally reduces your appetite which is noticed approximately 2 days after starting the diet. Overall, most people have adequate energy and feel good while on the program.

Can I eat anything I want as long as it equals 500 calories?
That is not advised. The exact foods in combination with the hCG cause the hypothalamus to move the fat reserves to cause significant weight loss without the loss of muscle or structural fat. Your body will only release these fat reserves after it has burned its consumed calories. So if you eat less than 500 calories you will not accelerate weight loss results. In fact, eating smaller quantities of food can actually stop the fat moving mechanism.

What happens if I miss one or more doses?
Missing doses, like any medication, will delay the total effectiveness of the program. For every dose missed you could potentially delay weight loss for 3 days and can experience increased hunger and cravings. If you miss more than 3 doses in one week the effect of the hCG is nullified, you should stop altogether or start over.

How much weight can I expect to lose on the program?
The amount of weight loss is dependent upon your starting point (i.e., the more weight to lose the more weight is lost). On average, patients can expect to lose approximately 15-40 pounds per month with it not being unusual for some people to lose 10 to 12 pounds in the first week.
Will I gain weight back once I stop the program?
Like any diet, you shouldn't go back to your prior eating habits that caused you to gain weight in the first place. Some degree of moderation in eating will be necessary because of the tendency to gain weight after any type of weight loss program. Stability of the normal weight is relatively easy because the weight loss is from storage fat and not from structural fat.

Is physical exercise required?
Physical activity is essential in maintaining total health for your body, but is not a mandatory requirement for this diet.

Indications and Usage: hCG has not been demonstrated to be an effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction that it causes a more attractive or “normal” distribution of fat, or that it decrease the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.

Legal Disclaimer: The FDA has not approved hCG for weight loss.
