When it comes to clothes, one size does not fit all. The same is certainly true for body contouring. Improving your figure depends on an infinite variety of factors, from the location and amount of fat you’d like to reduce to your overall BMI, or Body Mass Index. Because your needs are one-of-a-kind, we offer an extensive selection of fat reduction treatments, both surgical and non-surgical, to help you achieve your best results.
It can get a bit confusing knowing which option is right for you, which is why your first step is a consultation. In the meantime, here are the answers to some of the most common questions we hear concerning fat reduction:
What’s the point of doing lipo when CoolSculpting® and SculpSure® are around?
Comparing lipo to non-surgical fat reduction is like comparing apples to oranges. Lipo, CoolSculpting, and SculpSure all reduce fat, but in different ways with different results.
SmartLipo™ is ideal for removing a precisely targeted area of fat, and reduces fat immediately by suctioning it out. Non-invasive fat reduction treatments like CoolSculpting and SculpSure offer gradual fat reduction over the months following your treatment. While non-invasive fat reduction targets a specific area, such as the thighs or belly, it cannot afford the same precision and control of lipo.
What is BodyTite?
BodyTite is a minimally-invasive form of liposuction that can help to tighten skin in addition to reducing unwanted fat. BodyTite uses radiofrequency energy to tighten skin on the surface while a cannula simultaneously suctions away fat underneath the skin.
I’ve heard that your fat comes back with any fat reduction treatment. Is this true?
Once fat cells are removed from the body, they can never return. However, if you gain weight after your treatment, the fat cells that remain will grow in size and make your treated area look larger. Maintaining a steady weight with a healthy lifestyle is the only way to ensure your results over the long-term.
Which is better—CoolSculpting or SculpSure?
Both treatments are FDA-cleared and clinically proven to reduce fat. The main difference between CoolSculpting and SculpSure is that CoolSculpting destroys fat cells by freezing them, a process known as cryolipolysis, and SculpSure disables fat cells with laser heat.
Can CoolSculpting tighten skin?
Yes! CoolSculpting was recently FDA-cleared for tightening skin under the chin, in addition to reducing fat. This is truly an exciting development in the world of non-invasive fat reduction because it suggests that non-surgical treatments may have more benefits than we know.
I’ve heard CoolSculpting isn’t for everyone. How is this possible?
CoolSculpting is ideal for reducing pinchable areas of fat, such as a muffin top, love handles, or double chin. It offers subtle, more gradual improvements over time. If you desire more dramatic fat reduction, SmartLipo may be a better fit for you. We can help you determine your ideal fat reduction plan during your personal consultation.
